Happy Thanksgiving

*Originally posted on November 20, 2007

I just read an article on Wikipedia about Thanksgiving, and was encouraged by understanding more of our nation's history and what Thanksgiving is supposed to be focused around... Thanking God!!!

The girls' weekly memory verse was 1Thess. 5:16-18: "Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." I told the girls that when scripture points out clearly what God's will is... we should have a zeal for carrying out His will. He truly gives us a lot to be thankful for and we should take that opportunity to praise Him and glorify Him with a thankful heart for who He is and what He has done!

I am TRULY thankful for all that God has done in my life and in my family's life. He has given me a Godly husband who focuses on teaching His word and showing love to all of us, He has given me two wonderful daughters who profess their faith in Christ, and He has most recently given me the gift of homeschooling where I can have the honor and joy of teaching my children about Him and His world all day long!

What an awesome God we serve and I pray that you and your family are reminded of what God has done in your lives so that you may be thankful to Him! Have a Happy Thanksgiving... may God be glorified and may you enjoy time with your families that God has given you!
